I will admit, I put off watching this show purely because I didn’t want to be disappointed due to the fact I love star wars and always worry something like this can taint the overall franchise. WOW was I wrong!
This show is incredible. The attention to details that allude to the original trilogy and the prequel are amazing. The Mandalorian fits right into place with the films but the series format allows more exploration of the universe it’s based in.
Follow Dijn (Pedro Pascal), the badass Mandalorian bounty hunter around the galaxy as he keeps the adorable baby grogu, who is extremely force sensitive, safe whilst on a mission to reunite it with its own kind, the jedi order.
With appearances from the comics and/or the clone wars series, it leaves a joy during each episode and anticipation on who we will see next. From Bo-Katan, Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett, fans of the star wars franchise were not left disappointed.
Spoilers ahead if you have not watched the season 2 finale.
The biggest surprise of all was the return of the jedi, Luke Skywalker himself (Mark Hamill) in a pretty decent cgi of his younger self. Luke takes Grogu to hone his powers and teach him the jedi ways. We finally have reached the goal yet it’s bittersweet as we watch Dijn take off his helmet to say goodbye to Grogu. I wont lie, I shed a few tears myself.
The show leaves us with a tease of the newest series called “the book of boba fett” which we are very excited to see and have no doubt will be as excellent as the Mandalorian has been.
All episodes of The Mandalorian is available for streaming on Disney+
